The festivities now known as Western Days which started in 1950, is celebrating its 69th year in 2019. It continues to be the largest event of the year for the area. Since 1970, as part of Western Days, the community has had a parade during the Memorial Day weekend.

Valley Center Western Days, Inc. is the 501(c)3 non-profit community organization responsible for coordinating, producing and staging all the major events during Western Days week.  Note: There is another event the occurs in our town the same weekend as the Western Days Parade and Festival known as the Stampede Rodeo.  This event is a separate entity and is in no way associated with Valley Center Western Days.

We’re excited to announce that we’re bringing back the highly popular Guns & Hoses Chili Cook-off!  Fire, Sheriff, CHP and Tribal Police from Valley Center, Pauma, Pala, Rincon, San Pasqual, La Jolla and CalFire are joining forces to battle it out with their cooking skills. Service clubs, businesses and individuals are also welcome to join the battle. The fun begins at 5:30 p.m., Thursday May 23. The Valley Center Library will also hold their annual Carnival Wednesday, May 22.  Our local Rotary Club returns for their pancake breakfast Saturday morning at 7 a.m. before the parade. Additionally, the Valley Center’s Marshals Posse, Outlaws and Floozies will return to take over the town.

Valley Center Western Days needs to raise funds to pay for the parade and festival expenses. These expenses include traffic engineering and control, permits, entertainment, equipment and other related expenses. We would like to solicit you and/or your organization to contribute to the success of Western Days. This is a Valley Center tradition, and the committee is fully committed to making the festival and parade an event to remember!

We have several sponsorship levels based on donation amounts, but we look forward to people and organizations donating what they can afford to make this event the best it can be.
